Contents: PLC basics System overview SIMATIC S7 SIMATIC-Manager and Step 7-Objects Hardware projecting with SIMATIC S7 Step 7 for programming, documentation and fault detection Software structure and basic operations Step 7 Absolute and symbolic addressing Numbering systems (decimal, dual, hexadecimal) Data blocks and data formats Communication via the MPI-interface Destributed I/O devices on the S7 (Profibus DP) Start up All of the points listed above are looked at in further detail using practical tasks and intensive exercises on the programming device/PC and on the automation system/simulator.

Requirements: Experience with electrical controls Basic knowledge of MS-Windows handling
